Exports- and Imports-Led Growth: Evidence from a Time Series Analysis, Case of Jordan

چکیده

The purpose of this study is to examine equilibrium relationships and dynamic causality between economic growth (measured as GDP), exports, imports in Jordan using time-series data 1976 2021. In particular, research attempts determine exports-led growth, imports-led growth-led both the short-run long-run. four datasets, GDP, merchandise imports, gross capital formation, were examined Dickey–Fuller unit root tests, Phillips–Perron test, Johansen’s trace tests for cointegration. properties VAR(1) summarized Granger impulse response functions. test results showed that functions indicated there might be some among our datasets. Johansen cointegration suggested series not cointegrated, hence no long-term time series. It appeared short-run, GDP formation Grangerly caused exports. A shock very small fluctuating responses from approached zero

Time Series Behavior of Imports and Exports of Bangladesh: Evidence from Cointegration Analysis and Error Correction Model

Bangladesh, a developing economy, contains trade deficit from her very inception. This paper makes an effort to understand the time series behavior of total export and total import of Bangladesh. Unit root tests recognize the existence of random walk in total export and total import time series. Johansen cointegration test reveals long-run equilibrium relationship between these two variables. G...

Examined the Energy-led Growth Hypothesis in India: Evidence from Time Series Analysis

The present study examined the linkage between energy consumption and economic growth in India uses the annual time series data covering the period from 1970-71 to 2011-12. The study used Gross Domestic Product as a proxy for economic growth and energy consumption (oil equivalent per capital). The empirical findings of the study suggest that there is both the short run and the long run relation...
